This Privacy Policy describes how Ski Hard (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and deletes information when you use the Ski Hard Devvit app on Reddit.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies only to Ski Hard when used through Reddit’s Developer Platform (Devvit). It does not apply to other websites, apps, or services we may operate under different names.

Ski Hard runs inside Reddit posts and requires a Reddit account for most features (scores, customization, purchases, and sharing). By using the App, you also agree to Reddit’s User Agreement and Privacy Policy. If there is a conflict between this policy and Reddit’s policies, Reddit’s policies control for Reddit account and platform data.

2. Information We Collect

Based on the App’s current implementation, we collect and process the following categories of information.

2.1 Reddit account information

When you are logged in to Reddit, we receive:

• Reddit username — used to identify your scores, customization, achievements, purchases, and shared content
• Snoovatar image URL (if available) — used to display your avatar in replays and ghost racers
• Post and subreddit context — such as the post ID and subreddit name where you are playing, used to load the correct daily course and leaderboard

We do not collect your Reddit password, email address, or private messages.

2.2 Gameplay and progress data

To provide gameplay, leaderboards, and unlocks, we store:

• Run results — distance traveled, run duration, and timestamps
• Replay data — a recording of your inputs and skier appearance during a run, used for personal bests, ghost racers, and optional sharing
• Daily leaderboard entries — your username, best distance, run duration, run ID, and submission time for the current daily course
• Lifetime stats — such as total distance skied, snowmen decapitated, and bunnies squished (used for achievement hats)
• Tutorial status — whether you have completed the in-app tutorial
• Character customization — your chosen colors and hat style
• Unlock status — which cosmetic hats you have earned or purchased

2.3 User-generated content you choose to share

If you use sharing features, we process additional data to create public Reddit content on your behalf:

• Replay share posts — we may create a Reddit post containing your username, distance, skier appearance, and replay data
• Replay comments — we may upload an animated GIF of your run and post a comment (including optional text you provide, up to 500 characters) to a Reddit thread

Shared content is public on Reddit according to Reddit’s normal visibility rules.

2.4 Purchase and entitlement data

Ski Hard offers optional in-app purchases processed entirely through Reddit’s native payments system using Reddit Gold. We do not collect or store your payment card or billing details.

When you purchase a product, Reddit processes the transaction and notifies our App so we can grant the corresponding in-app entitlement (for example, unlocking the Prince’s Hat). We store:

• Product SKU and fulfillment status — tied to your Reddit username (for example, whether the Prince’s Hat is unlocked)
• Order information provided by Reddit — such as order status and product identifiers, used only to fulfill or revoke purchases

2.5 Technical and operational data

We may process limited technical information through Reddit’s Devvit platform (for example, error logs) to operate, debug, and improve the App. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers in the App.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

• Operate the game and save your progress
• Display daily leaderboards and ghost racers
• Save and restore your skier customization and unlocked hats
• Grant, verify, and revoke entitlements for Reddit Gold purchases
• Evaluate and award achievement-based cosmetic unlocks
• Create replay posts or comments when you choose to share
• Prevent abuse, validate run submissions, and maintain fair leaderboards
• Comply with Reddit Developer Platform requirements and applicable law

We do not use your data for:

• Third-party advertising
• Selling or renting personal information
• Behavioral profiling unrelated to the App
• Credit, employment, or insurance decisions

4. How We Store Information

Gameplay data, customization, stats, unlocks, leaderboards, and replays are stored in Redis through Reddit’s Devvit platform. Data is hosted and operated on Reddit’s infrastructure, not on Developer-owned external servers.

The App does not maintain a separate external database. We do not use HTTP fetch to send your data to third-party services outside Reddit’s platform.

5. How We Share Information

5.1 With other players

On the same daily course post, other players can see:

• Your username on leaderboards
• Your replay as a ghost racer (if you have a qualifying run), including your snoovatar and skier appearance

5.2 On Reddit (when you share)

If you share a replay, your run may appear in a public Reddit post or comment, including your username, distance, GIF, and skier appearance.

5.3 With Reddit

We use Reddit’s APIs and Devvit services to operate the App, including Redis storage, media uploads, post/comment submission, and payments. Reddit may process data according to its own policies.

5.4 With third parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not share data with external analytics, advertising, or data brokers.

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, Reddit, or Developer.

6. Data Retention

We retain App data for as long as needed to provide the App and its features, including persistent unlocks and leaderboard history for active daily courses.

Replay and leaderboard data for a given daily seed may remain available while that course is active and for a reasonable period afterward so ghost racers and rankings continue to work.

If you request deletion (see Section 8), we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize App-specific data associated with your Reddit username, subject to technical limitations of the Devvit platform and legal obligations.

7. Children’s Privacy

Ski Hard is not directed to children under 13. You must meet Reddit’s minimum age requirements to use Reddit and this App. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Your Choices and Data Deletion

Access and correction

Most data the App stores is visible to you in-game (scores, customization, unlocks). If you believe information we store about you is inaccurate, contact us.

Deletion requests

You may request deletion of App-specific data associated with your Reddit username by emailing dev@commotionlabs.com with:

• Your Reddit username
• A description of what you want deleted (for example, all Ski Hard progress, leaderboard entries, and replays)

We will respond within a reasonable time and delete or anonymize App data we control, where technically feasible.

Note: Content you published to Reddit (shared replay posts, comments, or GIFs) may remain on Reddit until you delete it through Reddit or request deletion from Reddit under Reddit’s policies. Deleting App storage data does not automatically remove public Reddit posts or comments you created.

If you delete your Reddit account, Reddit’s account deletion processes may also affect data associated with your username.

9. Security

We rely on Reddit’s Devvit platform security controls and follow reasonable practices to protect data processed by the App. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. International Users

Ski Hard is available through Reddit, which operates globally. Data may be processed in countries where Reddit or its service providers operate. By using the App, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes may also be communicated through the App or our published policy page. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
