Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Ski Hard (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a game available on Reddit through Reddit’s Developer Platform (Devvit).

Ski Hard is operated by Commotion Media Publishing (“Developer”), located in New York, USA. By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Relationship with Reddit

Ski Hard is a third-party app on Reddit’s Developer Platform. It is not created, owned, or operated by Reddit, Inc.

Your use of Reddit is governed by Reddit’s User Agreement, Privacy Policy, Developer Terms, Devvit Rules, and other applicable Reddit policies. If there is a conflict between these Terms and Reddit’s policies regarding Reddit platform services (including Reddit Gold purchases), Reddit’s policies control.

2. Eligibility

You must:

• Be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country to use Reddit)
• Have a valid Reddit account to use most App features (scores, customization, purchases, and sharing)
• Comply with these Terms, Reddit’s rules, and applicable laws

3. Description of the App

Ski Hard is an arcade skiing game that runs inside Reddit posts. Features include:

• Daily and practice gameplay on procedurally generated slopes
• Daily leaderboards tied to a shared course seed
• Character customization (colors and hat styles)
• Achievement-based cosmetic hat unlocks
• Optional replay sharing as Reddit posts or comments
• Optional in-app purchases of cosmetic items using Reddit Gold

All core gameplay is free. Purchases are optional and cosmetic only.

4. Virtual Goods and Reddit Gold Purchases

4.1 Products offered

Ski Hard may offer Devvit Goods — digital cosmetic items acquired with Reddit Gold through Reddit’s in-app payment flow.

Prices are set in Reddit Gold at tiers defined by Reddit’s Developer Platform. The USD equivalent shown at checkout is determined by Reddit, not Developer.

We may add, modify, or remove products in future versions. Any changes will be reflected in the App and, where required, in updated Terms.

4.2 What you are buying

• Purchases grant cosmetic entitlements only inside Ski Hard
• Virtual goods have no real-world monetary value
• Virtual goods are non-transferable between Reddit accounts
• Virtual goods cannot be redeemed for cash, Reddit Gold refunds from Developer, or other compensation except as described in Section 4.5
• Purchases do not affect leaderboard eligibility, run validation, or competitive fairness

4.3 How purchases work

1. You select a paid item in the App (for example, Prince’s Hat on the Customize screen)
2. Reddit’s native payment UI processes the transaction using your Reddit Gold balance or purchase flow
3. If payment succeeds, Reddit notifies our App to fulfill the order
4. We unlock the item on your Reddit username

Developer does not process payment cards or store billing information. Payment processing is handled by Reddit.

4.4 No pay-to-win

We do not sell gameplay advantages, extra lives, leaderboard boosts, or other competitive benefits. Paid items are clearly labeled and optional.

4.5 Refunds, disputes, and revocations

Reddit’s Econ Terms, Previews Terms, and Reddit’s refund policies apply to Reddit Gold transactions.

If Reddit issues a refund or reverses a purchase, we will revoke the corresponding in-app entitlement (for example, remove access to Prince’s Hat).

To contact Developer about a purchase dispute, email dev@commotionlabs.com with:

• Your Reddit username
• The product purchased (for example, Prince’s Hat)
• Approximate date of purchase
• A description of the issue

We will work in good faith to resolve disputes. Reddit may also issue refunds directly in some cases and adjust Developer payouts accordingly.

4.6 Developer earnings

Developer may receive compensation from Reddit when users acquire Devvit Goods with Reddit Gold, subject to Reddit’s Earn Terms and Earn Policy.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Cheat, exploit bugs, manipulate leaderboards, or submit falsified run data
• Use bots, scripts, or automation to play or submit scores
• Harass, abuse, or impersonate other users
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or overload the App or Reddit’s platform
• Circumvent payment systems or entitlement checks

We may invalidate scores, remove leaderboard entries, or restrict access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms or Reddit’s policies.

6. User-Generated Content

If you share replays, post comments, or submit text through the App:

• You retain ownership of content you create, subject to licenses you grant to Reddit under Reddit’s User Agreement
• You grant Developer a limited license to process, display, and transmit your content solely to operate sharing features (for example, creating a replay post or GIF comment)
• You represent that your content does not violate Reddit’s Reddit Rules or applicable law
• Shared content may be public on Reddit

You are responsible for content you choose to share.

7. Leaderboards and Game Data

Leaderboard rankings, ghost racers, and achievements are provided for entertainment. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy, or permanence of scores or rankings.

We may reset, modify, or remove leaderboard data when updating the App, changing map generation versions, or addressing abuse.

8. Intellectual Property

Ski Hard, including its code, art, audio, and branding (except Reddit trademarks and user content), is owned by Developer or its licensors. Reddit logos and trademarks belong to Reddit, Inc.

You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal entertainment through Reddit. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the App except as allowed by law or Reddit’s platform terms.

9. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, store, and delete data. By using the App, you acknowledge our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DEVELOPER AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP OR VIRTUAL GOODS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DEVELOPER’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR VIRTUAL GOODS IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) TEN U.S. DOLLARS (US $10).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Developer from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your user-generated content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Changes to the App and Terms

We may update the App or these Terms at any time. When we update Terms, we will change the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated through the App or our published Terms page.

Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the App.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to App features if you violate these Terms or Reddit’s policies. You may stop using the App at any time.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where Reddit’s mandatory platform terms apply.
